When we go up in space again... it should be mandated that they play this song

Why bass players are the boss
1. The bass guitar, in most music (especially modern
western), is usually the dominant sound you hear all throughout a song. In most
recordings, the bass sound always carries the larger “thump” and is easily
audible by the human ear. During listening, the bass player can easily follow
the song and play it back much easier than most instruments (Unless the music
or song involves sixteenth notes in the arrangement and demands the bass player
to work overtime).
2.The bass guitar, be it six string or the usual four
string, is normally played one note at a time, rarely does it deal in full
chord arrangements in the whole song. Emphasis on rare, which means they do
employ full chordal arrangement, but on certain pieces. That makes it easier to
listen to the songs and get the general idea quicker than most
instrumentalists.
3. The bass guitar player is usually the backbone of the
song, as easy as it sounds like, they have to be consistent on their playing,
and one minor error can make the other musicians/instrumentalist lost during
play.
4. The bass guitar player is usually percussive in its
approach (in most modern music); it is always the partner of the drummer. The
drummer then usually takes his/her cue from the bassist's eye movements,
eyebrow gestures, and head bobbing. Their tempo should usually be very in sync
to each other to the minute detail (especially with the bass drum), to create
fullness in sound during gigs.
5.The bass player is usually an audiophile, is into mixing,
arranging, and will know most instruments (at least either intermediate or
advanced level), which makes his/her ears very finely tuned to all the
instruments he/she hears during recording, at gigs or at practice.

For a While- Eiderglast
When it comes to writing songs, I have just re-learned to write spontaneously. No pauses or breaks, three simple chords , a guitar and a recorder in front, and just let what my inner mind wants to say.
And the result, though it may sound a bit rough, is quite pleasing to my ears. And my ears are quite hard to please.
I would like to acknowledge my bandmates for that one night where we jammed and we played any chords and put words that came on top of our heads. It was liberating and at times very revealing of our inner workings.
For a while
She comes to me, On a warm sunny day,
Her hair glistens like gold She smiles so warm
So warm, her eyes, They shine, invite
Invite, inside a love...
She's a girl I used to know
She was the one I wanted so,
But she, did find Someone to love
Someone who can And I don't have
The one she wants Has riches and gold
And I am just a lowly serf
Ooh I love, to know What's become
Of her, does she
Remember, the way I smiled so full of love
But does she ever know
She's the one I used to know,
And now that's all, In the past...
And it's gone... and it's gone And it's gone
I wish to be, the one she loves
Maybe, one time I could come, and be
The one she wants
For a time, for a while
All alone in the night
She would be
Full of my love
Full of my love
I don't care
If it's only
For a while...

The First One (Original Song)
Have you been enamored by someone who through a sad twist of fate, can't ever be with you (because you're dirt poor, or just plain ugly or simply not her type). Have you ever felt that you finally found the one, only to realize that, in any multiverse, it is never meant to be ... This is a song I made back in the mid-1990s, where I found solace and comfort in making a song that would stand as a tribute to the one who got away (or the one who escaped, depending on your perspective).

flag inspired superheroes
Isn't it neat that, Canada, U.S.A. and the United Kingdom are well represented with their respective superheroes? (from left to right: Guardian, Captain America, Captain Britain)
I also did a Filipino (from Philippines ofcourse) based superhero. I call him Battalion. He's partly inspired from Captain Marvel, Captain America and Luke Skywalker. Yup, the jacket is very much inspired from Luke's ceremonial Bespin uniform.
One hitch though, I once had a chat with a locally known illustraitor (no typo there), who was giving me tips on how to break in the comics business ( but it was more like dissuading me).
I showed this drawing without the colors first, and also showed the previous design. He rermarked that I should stick with the previous design, almost strongly.
Why I wonder, was he so taken with the old design when I was leaning on keeping this one?
So, recently, this famous artist started recruiting other creators to start a comic line of his own..
and started publishing a character who's insignia/chest emblem looks similar to mine.
With the exception of color scheme and rendering, you'r think his design is kind of taken from mine.
Alas, I've no proof (or do I?) as to who did what first. Only that I have made sketches and drawings back in the late 80s to the 90s of this particular character.
I had my design far earlier than his since my design was from the late eighties stretching on to the 90s, with the final design featured above.
For comparison, here is the character of this very famous, if somewhat dilluded illustraitor.
How he can lay claim that his was the first is beyond me.
I only had a chat with this guy since I was a fan (before), and to get a tip from his distinguished persona albeit online was already a privilege...
But I guess this is how the biz goes, i fhe can publish/ record/distribute it first, he can declare that this character was his own making.
The guy is surrounded with other illustrious artists and creators, so, it would be impossible for me to even contest his claims knowing his peers will take his side.... bummer.

Always wondered how it would be if we have the other countries' superheroes... and here are some of what i made in the past.

working as a freelancer is kind of a downer
doing a poster design for free... kind of a crapper since it wasn't supposed to be that way. somehow, An acquaintance of mine has asked me to do a poster design for an upcoming event.
I'm no super-artist or even as prolific as most designers are, I am merely copy- pasting picture images and adding fonts and arranging them in an attractive manner.
Anyways, things went south and the project was cancelled and someone took over .
So, here is the poster design. Will they use it? Don't care. Atleast I am done being affiliated with a person who'd pour mud at me if I don't behave like a good dog and do as they say, no questions asked.
